Glass is the traditional material, and while it is clear, it may shatter. A glass globe with plastic coating will limit the amount of shatter upon impact. Polycarbonate is a shatterproof material, which is good if you keep produce.
Guards
Steel plated wire guards are something to consider to reduce the likelihood that your globes will be damaged during use of your walk in freezer or cooler. They go around the globe to act as a protectant.
Suitable for Damp Locations
It’s really important that your lighting, no matter which option you choose, is suitable for damp locations. You don’t want to risk wire shortages.
